Desperation loomed over Earth. Resources all used up, and hope was all lost. While three player chess who would decide billions of lives was at its climax, a portal appeared high in the sky. Monsters bigger than any animal lived on Earth with skin harder than the hardest alloys on Earth poured out to feast on the human flesh. Putting their differences aside for the time being, humanity united to battle against their common enemies. But weapons were ineffective. The strongest weapons of humanity, could hardly damage the monsters. In despair, science prevailed and laser weapons were born. First monster killed! But what allowed humanity to win the war wasn't the laser weapons, but a piece of orb found in the monster's brain. When supplied electricity, the orbs would turn into pre-shaped items. Weapons can hurt monsters, and armors can defend against them kept on appearing as more and more monsters are slayed. With new found weapons and the will to survive this ordeal, humanity pushed the monster back to the portal. At that time a harbinger flew out of the portal with its shiny form. It was an AI of the native race of the Portal World. Mother AI, as people named it, helped humanity to seal the portal while using the miracles of the alien world. With these miracles, humans awakened superpowers to fight against monsters. An unfortunate teen, Miles Cross, born with dormant Ancient Genes and failed to awaken his superpower.
