This time Cheng Kecheng didn't get the same amount of support, because of the last incident, they wouldn't be blinded by Cheng Kecheng's word anymore. Many thought he just wanted to do anything he could to mess with the new guy. With a serious tone, Cheng Kecheng stared at Meng Zhong and the judges and said.

"How can we know that Wang Ming has answered the question correctly? Just because he's a new name to the scene, doesn't mean we can treat him better than the others can we?"

Meng Zhong looked speechless. He stared at Cheng Kecheng like he was staring at a donkey. How could such a dignified chef would repeatedly try to sabotage Wang Ming? What had Wang Ming done to him, he just couldn't understand the reasoning behind his actions.

He was going to ask Wang Ming to elaborate on his answer, but Cheng Kecheng stopped him with his accusations. Throughout this whole competition he had been impartial all the way the only thing he did to help Wang Ming, is to give him a few warnings, but he didn't do it in private, he warned everyone.

"Mr. Cheng, please be careful of what you're saying. I was just about to ask Wang Ming to elaborate on his answer. We have been doing this every round, but it's especially important this round as us Mc's, judges and production didn't think that anyone would get this round right. Wang Ming, could you please enlighten us about your thought process and how you identified the fish?"

Meng Zhong hadn't announced what the fish is yet, so everyone looked at Wang Ming with suspense. Those at home were on their toes, looking at Wang Ming. This round of competition sounded so simple, but yet, it's incredibly hard. People watching at home had made their own guesses and wanted to know the answer to satisfy their curiosity.

With a smile, Wang Ming said confidently, a lot different from he was moments ago when he wrote his answer on the paper. When he wrote his answer earlier, he didn't feel too confident. It was just a educated guess.

"Everyone here and at home, the fish you guys just saw and we here examined, is the fish Haddock. A type of white fish which has gotten more popular in China the past few years, few know about the fish here in China since it only exist in the North Atlantic oceans and also it bares a lot of similarities with cod, as it's in the cod family."

Many contestants around him immediately voiced their dissatisfaction when Wang Ming told them his answer. A few had answered Haddock, while most of them Cod. Cheng Kecheng had guessed Haddock himself, Wang Ming could visibly see his anger.

"What? Then we should have gotten a point! I answered Cod."

"Me Too!"

"I answered Haddock I should have gotten a point!"

Meng Zhong wanted to calm down the contestants, but Wang Ming's next words calmed them all down. "That's not all. The person who created this round is extremely crafty. He or she didn't just use a normal wild Haddock fish, but it's a farmed Haddock. You should all have noticed earlier that the Haddock contains more fat than usual right?"

Everyone nodded. They had noticed it, but none of them knew why it was like that, so they just disregarded it. The whole stage became quiet. Everyone listened to Wang Ming, like he's an old master teaching his toddlers. Even Cheng Kecheng and Mao Qingling put down their hate and listened carefully.

"There's a few specialized fish farms, who use special techniques to make their fish more fatty, since fatty fish are more popular on the market. It's like how Japanese farmers raise their cows, Japanese cows have a lot more fat marbling than a normal cow. There's no way a wild Haddock would have so much fat, I've never tasted farmed Haddock before, but with the clues I found, there couldn't be any other option."

Xia Qiao, another contestant, felt enlightened at that moment. After hearing Wang Ming's explanation, it felt so obvious. They should all have known it, the power of hindsight. But one thing he still didn't understand. Raising his hand, he hoped that Wang Ming would answer him.

"Mr Xia, is there something on your mind? We're not in a classroom you don't need to raise your hand to answer." Meng Zhong said.

With a red face, Xia Qiao said. "Yes, sorry. I just wanted to ask Wang Ming a question if that's okay?"

Meng Zhong couldn't answer that, so he could only redirect the question to the right recipient.

"Mr Xia, please ask if I can answer it I will."

"Thank you, I won't waste anymore time. What detail made you sure that the fish's Haddock and not Cod or Halibut? I can't wrap my head around it, how you were so sure that it's Haddock."

"Ah, an excellent question. I should have explained that too. It's very simple but of course to know this you need to know the characteristics of the different fishes, so let me explain for you here and those watching at home as well. To determine what fish a cooked fillet is, it's very hard to tell via the taste, as many white fish taste the same, unless you've eaten the specific fish many times you won't be able to tell the difference. If you can't tell by taste, color or shape, then how can you tell the difference? You might ask and it's all in the texture."

"Well, that's where knowing the characteristics of the different fishes is important. The fish meat was simply too firm for it to be halibut. It had a more flaky texture. Since Haddock is also in the Cod family, it has a flaky texture just like Cod. Though one difference Haddock has to a Cod, is that its meat is even more flaky than Cod, the meat is also a lot thinner. I noticed that the fillet had broken up already after the staff cut the meat up to disguise its shape and thickness. All these points told me that the fish had to be Haddock and nothing else."

The room went silent as everyone comprehended what Wang Ming had just said. "Excellent!" Xie Xiu said, the first person to break the silence. Wang Ming's answer seriously impressed her. She didn't think that anyone in this competition would impress her like this. Wang Ming's train of thought was just the same as hers, but even she would never guess that it's a farmed haddock.

In her mind now was only 1 question. If she had been a part of this year's competition, would she win against Wang Ming? She hoped that Wang Ming would make it through to the quarterfinals. She felt curious about how much more Wang Ming's hiding in his head. Maybe he's even good enough for them to recruit him.

"Great, you don't have any further objections, do you, Mr. Cheng? If not, then we'll start the next round."

Cheng Kecheng hurriedly shook his head. He had been embarassed enough already. He wouldn't oppose Wang Ming anymore for the rest of the competition, at least not openly. In the dark, he would have many ways to play with him.

Only him guessing right this round, made Wang Ming feel more at ease, he's only 1 point behind now if he kept going strong and got everything right, his chances of getting through to the next round is high. The chances that everyone in front of him in the standings would answer correctly every round is minimal. Though he wondered what would happen if they tie.

Since there's a big chance that they will tie, all the competitors in this round deserve and have the skill to go to the next round. Wang Ming could only hope that the next few rounds would be head scratchers for others and not for him.

Angela then announced, "Then let's start the next round everyone please get back into position." After seeing that, no one had any more objections or questions. Angela had a slight tingle in her eyes when she looked at Wang Ming, but it had only been for a brief second, so no one had noticed.
